The Museum of Asian Art’s exhibits presented in the Humboldt Forum are only a part of its impressive collections. Additional objects from the museum’s valuable holdings are stored in the depot at Dahlem. The depot is designed as a study collection and is used for the restoration, research, archiving and digitisation of the objects. The exhibits are also prepared there for future exhibitions in other museums and for rotation within the Humboldt Forum.During an exclusive guided tour, Dr Lilla Russell-Smith, curator of the Central Asian collection, and her colleagues will provide a rare insight into the depot in Dahlem. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the collection’s background, as well as the research and care of the cultural treasures. To register for this event, please email info@giak.org as the number of participants is limited due to the size of the depot.
